CowParade Mooves to Manchester, England... Summer 2004 will see 100+ CowParade bovines graze the streets and parks of Manchester, England. Brought to the city by CowParade Europe and Manchester City Council, the bovines will provide Mancunians with another spectacle to rival their staging of the 2002 Commonwealth Games.

Launching in June 2004 and running through to September, CowParade Manchester will enliven the city for both residents and visitors alike. The gala auction in October 2004 will see a number of the cows sold with substantial proceeds benefiting Manchester Kids (Reg'd Charity Number 1087854) who provide funding for children's and young people's projects throughout the Greater Manchester Region.

As befitting the "creative capital of the United Kingdom" special art initiatives are being explored to ensure that the Manchester Cows not only reflect the diverse and multi-cultural nature of the city but also showcase its' creative talents.


Call to Artists

The cows will graze throughout Manchester from June 14th through to September 12th, 2004 and ensuring significant exposure for the artists. If you would like to be one of the artists selected to use a cow as a canvas, CowParade Manchester is inviting design submissions for this innovative public art exhibition. Artists whose work is selected by a sponsor will be asked to transfer their designs onto a life-sized, blank fibreglass cow form and will be paid a £750 honorarium on receipt of payment from the sponsor.
