11/ 20/ 03 Record Selling Cow at Ireland Auction!

The CowParade Ireland auction held on November 20 at The Four Seasons hotel raised over $500,000 for the benefit of the Jack and Jill Trust and the Dublin Simon Community. The highlight of the evening was the auction of Waga-Moo-Moo, which sold for 125,000 Euros ($148,000 USD), surpassing the previous CowParade record of $110,000 for HANDsome from CowParade Chicago 1999. Designer John Rocha was estatic with the result and the CowParade event. "CowParade is a wonderful idea that benefits charity, while bringing smiles to the streets of Dublin. I was delighted to be involved."

Gerard Beshoff, Project Director of CowParade Ireland could not have been more pleased with the results. "We were delighted with the response of our Irish and many overseas bidders. CowParade Ireland conentrated on the quality of the art and this was reflected in the prices achieved. We were pleased to sell cows to international buyers thereby showcasing the artistic talents of Ireland."

Jonathan Irvin, Chief Executive of the Jack and Jull Trust was equally pleased. "Mind blowing! The money we made this evening will make a huge difference to our work with so many damaged children." Kathering Ayers of the Dublin Simon Community had this to say: "The CowParade auction is a tremendous result and will enable the Dublin Simon Community to change so many lives for the better. We are extremely grateful to the bidders, artists and organizers.

The Jack and Jill Trust works to support severely handicapped children and their families, and the Dublin Simon Community is a voluntary group which works and campaigns for the homeless.
